Meat Loaf lashed out when he was quizzed about the state of his health as he admitted he was “sick of talking about it.”
The legendary rocker – real name Marvin Lee Aday – passed away yesterday aged 74, reportedly after a brief battle with Covid-19.
Confirming the news on Facebook his family posted an emotional statement.
It read: “Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side.
“Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.”
The singer has been plagued by ill-health in recent years and had started putting his defences up when quizzed about it during a 2016 interview with the Daily Mirror.

Five months prior to the chat he was mistakenly declared dead by a US tabloid, when he collapsed on stage in Edmonton, Canada.
The chat sparked a lot of emotion regarding the incident and he was quick to dismiss the claims that he may be suffering from poor health.
He said: “Listen, I am not dying. After three months of therapy, I will be fine. I am sick of talking about it. I don’t want to talk about it from now on. And anyone else who asks me the question, I’m not going to respond to it.”

Prior to that incident in 2003, he collapsed on stage at Wembley Arena and after attempting to perform another song was taken to nearby Northwick Park Hospital by paramedics.
At the time it was discovered he was suffering from heart condition Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and he had to undergo surgery.
The condition is defined as an extra electrical pathway being present between the heart’s upper and lower chambers resulting in a rapid heartbeat.

He was also involved in a shot-put accident at high school where he was hit in the head with a 5.4kg shot-put during a sports session and escaped death in a horror car crash.
In 2012 while on touring in Australia he damaged vocal cords, telling the Daily Mail that the incident sparked a conversation between him and Adele because she had also suffered from a similar injury.
He explained: “I was determined to continue even though I had to visit a doctor every night.
“My problems were similar to Adele’s.
“I actually sent her a message saying that every singer understood what she was going through.”
