Axed Dancing On Ice pro Hamish Gaman claims bosses 'told him to kiss Faye Brookes'

Former Dancing On Ice skating professional Hamish Gaman has claimed that ITV bosses told him to kiss Faye Brookes during a routine.

At the time, Hamish was engaged to fiancée Amelia Humfress, but despite his relationship status, he was reportedly still told to kiss his skating partner.

In the 2021 series of the show, Hamish, 38, and Faye, 34, were paired up for the competition.

And in new revelations, it has been alleged that the pair were asked to kiss.

The Sun reported that last night Hamish took to Instagram where he said: “I was asked by a senior member of the creative team to kiss Faye during one of our routines.

“When I said we’d both be uncomfortable doing that and I was concerned about the press/social media attention and the wellbeing of our partners, it was suggested that they could make it look like we kissed instead using camera angles.”

In week two of the competition, Faye and Hamish skated to Taylor Swift’s romantic 2019 hit Lover, where at the end of the routine, the camera moved back and the pair looked incredibly intimate.

Shortly after the sensual dance, Hamish injured a tendon in his hand and long-serving professional skater Matt Evers replaced him as Faye’s skating partner.

Hamish was engaged at the time

This wasn’t the first time the only issue Hamish had on Dancing On Ice though – the skating star famously clashed with Caprice in the 2020 series.

They accused each other of bullying, which led to ITV opening an investigation, with Hamish later being axed from the 2022 series and replaced by professional skater Oscar Peter.

In October 2021, the skating star broke the news to his fans where he said: “Hi everyone. I’m sad to confirm that I’m not returning to Dancing On Ice this year. The producers told me that they weren’t bringing me back because they wanted to freshen up the lineup.

“I was completely surprised by their decision and I’ve been left confused and struggling to make sense of everything that’s happened.”

It was reported that in his post last night, the professional skater added: “Honestly, things have been difficult recently.

“It doesn’t help that almost every time I go to the rink to coach or train there’s a team from DOI there so I can’t really get away from it (there are three teams training at the rink I coach at).

“I’m so grateful though that I get to spend more time skating with Amelia and I also love working with my students.”
