TV kings Ant and Dec have been toppled by Michael McIntyre.
Their new ITV game show Limitless Win was beaten in the Saturday night ratings war by The Wheel.
The news will be a huge blow to the Geordies who usually have the golden touch with hit shows.
A source said: “This will be very bad news for the lads. The word ‘flop’ is not in their vocabulary.”
Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win – where contestants compete for a limitless cash prize for the first time in telly history – launched on Saturday January 9.
The first episode pulled in an average audience of 4.4 million.
It was pitted against the very popular Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel on BBC One but beat it by a million viewers.
However last week the telly duo’s game show dropped to 3.7million and on Saturday it fell further to 3.5million.
McIntyre’s fun packed celebrity game show got 3.7 million – meaning it beat Ant and Dec for the first time.
Many viewers have complained that although they love seeing the cheeky pair on Limitless Win they found the show’s rules “confusing and baffling”.
Ant and Dec – who have won a staggering 20 National TV Awards as best presenters – are not used to flops.
They front three of ITV’s flagship shows Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity.
But they have had a few failures such as 2011 game show Red or Black and movie Alien Autopsy.
Ant once said about their ventures: “You’ve got to take risks and you’ve got to challenge yourself.”
Last night ITV claimed Limitless Win got an average of 3.7million – but this figure included their + 1 audience too.
