Thierry Mugler has died at the age of 72 as his team announce the sad news on his Instagram page.
According to the social media post, the iconic French fashion designer died on Sunday.
Currently, no cause of death is known.
The post was shared to her 606,000 followers in both French and English.
On a blank black image the cation read: “#RIP We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
The death seems to be unexpected as it is not known that Mugler had ill health.
Mugler found fame in the fashion industry in 1980 and showcased his designers on runways and in stage shows.
The iconic designer has dress a wide range of stars including Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, David Bowie, George Michael and many more.
In 2019, Mugler came out of retirement to dress Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s star Kim at the Met Gala.
The star also made a mark in the fragrance industry after releasing several best selling perfumes, including Angel Nova which hit the shops in 2020.
Since the tragic news broke of his death, nearly 40,000 tributes have poured in for the star.
Model Balla Hadid wrote on his Instagram post: “Nonononono,” followed by a sad face emoji.
Fashion model Georgia May Jagger said: “I cannot believe this is true sending love to you all. Thierry was a force of creativity and kindness.”
One fan added: “Can’t believe Manfred Thierry Mugler has passed away at age 73, may he rest in peace.”
Another penned: “Rest easy to Manfred Thierry Mugler, one of the greatest fashion designers of all time. His impact on the fashion industry will continue to live on forever.”
Kris Jenner is also one of the thousands to like the sad social media post shared to his Instagram.
