Dan Walker 'gets in trouble' with BBC Breakfast bosses after disobeying strict schedule

BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker confessed he “gets in trouble” if he disobeys BBC bosses strict programming schedule after his accidental TV blunder.

During Monday’s instalment of the popular news show, the Strictly star and his co-host Sally Nugent welcomed viewers back as he updated audiences on the latest news headlines.

But the 44-year-old broke the professional veil as he introduced the wrong segment on the morning show when he misread the schedule on air.

While he checked the strict TV timetable, his 50-year-old co-star threw the show over to the weather while the bumbling dad-of-three corrected the TV timetable.

It was at this point that his co-host distracted viewers while he looked up the correct time that the pair would be interviewing their latest guest.

Dan ended the segment by saying: “We’ll be speaking to Cat a bit later i’m just trying to find out when … 8.50! I. found it.

“I’ve got a sheet here that tells me everything and it tells me right now that we’ve got to go to the weather with Matt. I have to obey this.”

And the weatherman couldn’t help but warn the newsreader against going off script as he said: “Oh yes, do not disobey this sheet!”

Despite the disappointingly gloomy weather to come, the weather reporter returned to the Strictly star as he fumbled with his papers while he prepared for the next segment.

Unable to keep a straight face as a red-faced Dan flustered under the pressure, Sally asked: “What does you little sheet say is on next?”

As he fidgeted in his seat he warned: “I get in trouble if I don’t follow the sheet” before he moved onto the next segment.

The blonde bombshell has taken a much-needed break from the show for the week

It comes after the dad-of-three responded to weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood’s sudden absence from BBC Breakfast as viewers shared their concerns for her online.

During Monday’s instalment, meteorologist Matt Taylor stepped in for the blonde bombshell as she took a much-deserved break from the news show.

But fans of the 59-year-old only needed to take to Twitter to see that the show was in great hands as the broadcaster shared the news on his personal account.

As he boasted about his morning gig, he let viewers know that the long-standing starlet would return to their screens next week.
