GMB's Susanna Reid 'terrified' of Dancing on Ice stint after Ranvir Singh horror story

Susanna Reid has admitted she’s “terrified” of ice skating after Ranvir Singh shared her own horror story of being on the rink.

The Good Morning Britain hosting duo have both competed on Strictly Come Dancing, but it sounds like they’ve both sworn off ever taking their skills to the ITV ice rink.

Speaking on GMB following the first Dancing on Ice elimination, which saw Ben Foden sent home, the early morning favourites shared their fears.

Grimacing, Ranvir, 44, said: “My friend’s sister fell on the ice and you can guess what happened… I literally can’t go on the ice since I was eight.”

And Susanna, 51, said: “It’s the falling and putting your hand out… that’s always terrified me.”

Sunday night saw the final remaining members of the celebrity line-up debut on the ice, although Rachel Stevens had to sit out after an injury, meaning she is still yet to perform.

On the launch night earlier this month, ITV regular Ria Hebden was voted into the skate-off, with rugby star Ben Foden joining her on Sunday night.

The judges chose to save Ria, meaning Ben was the first person to be eliminated from the 2022 series.

The other celebrities taking part in the skating show this year are Happy Mondays’ dancer Bez, ex-Strictly pro Brendan Cole, The Vamps member Connor Ball, Pussycat Dolls babe Kimberly Wyatt, Olympian Kye Whyte, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, pro dancer Regan Gascoigne, Corrie icon Sally Dynevor and Paralympian Stef Reid.

While Susanna and Ranvir have seemingly stopped ITV ever approaching them for a stint on the ice, they’re no strangers to dancing on the telly.

Susanna competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, partnered with Kevin Clifton, and came out as a runner-up.

And Ranvir competed in 2020 alongside pro Giovanni Pernice, with the dancing duo being eliminated the week before the grand finale.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
