Adele cancelled residency show in Las Vegas fuming over planned swimming pool stunt

Last Week, Adele broke down in tears in an online video as she told fans that she’d been forced to postpone her upcoming Las Vegas residency hours before she was set to go on stage.

It’s recently been revealed that she delayed the show due to a heated confrontation over a swimming pool stunt that she planned for the show.

The chart-topper was supposed to stand in the middle of a huge swimming pool while belting out her hits — but after seeing the pool’s final design she had compared it to an “old pond” which is why she refused to perform.

A US source has issued that Adele’s initial plan was to be boosted up in a pool during the residency, called Weekends With Adele, which had seen tickets selling for up to £9,000.

However, the source claimed that after seeing the final design of the set, the Easy On Me singer was completely dissatisfied with the end product.

The source told The Sun: “When she saw the finished design, she refused to take part.

“Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.

Adele announced the postponement hours before she was due on stage

“The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.”

Addressing her 27.1 million followers on Twitter, Adele broke down in tears as she announced the news, telling fans: “We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”

Since making the announcement, The Rolling In The Deep star has been met with some major backlash with some fans fuming.

Some fans were angry after she postponed the three-month run of shows

One dissatisfied ticket holder said: “Seriously? Postpone if you need to, that’s fine — but 28 hours before? I flew in this morning. Are you going to refund me my flight, hotel, and the rapid Covid test that was mandatory? This is so f***ed up.”

She promised fans that she would re-schedule all of the dates.

New dates for her Las Vegas residency are yet to be released.
