Carol Vorderman has fuelled rumours that she could be The Masked Singer’s Mushroom.
The former Countdown star, 61, responded to the claims following the character’s fantastic performance on Saturday night’s programme.
The character has given clues such as taking the panel “back to school”, “soaking up and communicating knowledge” and included references to presenting.
Mushroom performed Crazy by Gnarls Barkley on the show, with Davina McCall suggesting it could be the Welsh star behind the mask.
The TV judge said: “Previously we have talked about her fantastic brain. There has been mention of numbers and educating people.
“And, she is crazy, I know that.
“I am thinking of Carol Vorderman, but I have never heard Carol sing.”
However, fellow judge Jonathan Ross may have quashed those rumours by chiming in: “I have heard her sing once, I haven’t fully recovered.”
Carol later retweeted a post from The Masked Singer’s official Twitter account which listed the presenter as an official guess.
Several fans also think Carol is behind the Mushroom outfit.

One fan tweeted: “Mushroom = Carol Vorderman.”
Another said: “@MaskedSingerUK That’s Carol Vorderman!” And added a mushroom emoji.
While a third added: “Oh bloomin eck who is Mushroom? Carol Vorderman?”
This comes after the star teased her age-defying body for her 204,000 followers to enjoy.
She posed in a tiny sports bra branded as Welsh Rugby Union, revealing who she’ll be supporting in this year’s tournament which starts in February.
In the sizzling snap, the brunette bombshell can be seen posing from the side, teasing her busty cleavage whilst enjoying a tranquil afternoon typing on her laptop at her Welsh home.
Fans also flocked to the comment section to praise the star, with one telling her to start an OnlyFans account.
