Katie Price has announced today she is moving into the brave new world of online private content-sharing site, OnlyFans, on the same day her new TV show Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion airs.
The announcement comes after two years of umming and ahing on the part of the former glamour model, who first signalled that joining the platform might be something she was interested in back in 2020.
Speaking at a press conference today dressed as a nun, January 26, she said: “Doing my OnlyFans channel is something that I am born to do. It’s something I’m born to do. I’ve done glamour for years. I’m so excited I’ve got no one in my way.
“There are no lads mags anymore, I’m not doing it for nothing. I’ve always been paid to do what I do. Why would you just want to give that away? I think my body is valuable, it’s my rules. I want to dictate how I show my body.
“I’m embracing myself – I’m a feminist.”
Reports have claimed Katie has faced some financial woes in recent years, with celebrity net worth predicting she is worth less than $1m (£740,000).
However, she used to have a huge fortune reportedly worth around £45 million to her name.
It’s believed her fortune fell apart for a variety of reasons, from buying and up-keeping a fleet of pink vehicles to huge heating bills, but where did it come from in the first place?
She built up her wealth through a variety of different avenues because, for a time, everything she touched turned to gold. We take a look at some of the main areas Price used to build up her old fortune.
Katie Price glamour modelling
Price first came to be known through her modelling for lads’ mags and tabloid newspapers, where she went by the name of Jordan.
It wasn’t always a big payday, however. The Mirror reported in 2020 that Price had only been paid £30 for some of her most revealing shoots.
She said: “When it started, I remember everyone thought I was minted. But do you know how much I really made? I used to take home £30.”
Katie Price books, perfume ranges and more
The star made piles of cash using her public image to sell items like books and beauty products.
From best-selling reads to whole ranges of perfumes, she was able to diversify her income meaning she was making money out of her previous success.
The Daily Mail also report that Price lent her name to baby clothes, jewellery, riding apparel, and homeware.
She wrote six best selling autobiographies, three of which came before she turned 30 years old. She also had 11 ghost-written novels under her name.
She has even dived into the world of nutrition supplements.
Wedding coverage and music
The rights to Price’s wedding with singer Peter Andre were the subject of a deal with a magazine.
The deal was worth £1.75 million and gave exclusive coverage of the event to a publication, the Mirror reports.
In 2010, Price released a single called “Free to Love Again”, something she reportedly simply did for a bit of fun.
Katie Price’s stints on reality TV
The Mirror also reports Katie Price earned six figures for her appearances on reality TV.
She popped up in a huge number of fly-on-the-wall TV shows, each earning variously sized piles of cash as her huge celebrity reputation got bigger and bigger.
Huge shows like Katie Price: My Crazy Life, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother only exposed her to more potential income streams and in some cases will have also earned her money directly.
But despite apparently losing her fortune, all might not be lost for Price’s finances, following exciting new ventures.
Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion
Price’s latest venture, Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, which is set to air tonight, January 26, is thought to be making the star a cushy £45,000.
Along with the new TV show, she also could stand to make millions from her new OnlyFans content if she is able to follow in the footsteps of her pal Kerry Katona.
