Adele fans heartbroken as she 'pulls out of Brit Awards performance' after Vegas axe

Adele has reportedly pulled out of a rumoured Brit Awards performance, weeks after she axed her Las Vegas residency shows.

The Sun has reported that the singer apparently told event organisers that she would perform live at London’s O2 Arena to commemorate the 2022 Brit Awards, in what would be her first Brit Award performance in five years.

It has been alleged that the announcement of her performance at the coveted ceremony was put on hold after the 33-year-old mega star postponed her Las Vegas shows just the other week in a tearful video to fans.

The Brit Awards are due to take place on February 8, meaning when Adele left bosses in the lurch days after cancelling her US shows, it was all systems go for finding alternative acts at short notice.

The Sun reported that yesterday a source revealed Adele was due to perform at the event and has now pulled the plug on her appearance, meaning the bosses of The Brits have had a “big blow”.

Speaking to the publication, the source revealed that the bosses are apparently in talks with her team to see if she can make a cameo via video-link.

Adele recently cancelled her Las Vegas residency shows

They also said that that bosses are willing to do whatever in order for her to accept a cameo appearance: “It’s a massive headache but they want her involved in any way she will agree.”

If Adele wins any Brit awards, which is highly likely considering her album dropped last year, somebody will need to accept the awards in her place, proving another headache for bosses.

With “several big names already saying no” it has been said that the likes of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa collecting awards for the star are highly unlikely.

“They have also made an approach to Stormzy, in the hope that they can persuade him,” the source explained.

Fans have taken to social media to vent their frustrations that the singer has reportedly pulled out of the Brits, with one writing: “I hope she performs at Hyde Park at least. I’m so sad she’s not performing at the Brits now.”

Another penned: “Adele you can’t leave the Brits. We expect a performance for 30, you would really break the hearts of many.”

Daily Star has contacted Adele’s reps for comment.
