Emmerdale fans were in a rather speculative mood on Monday, as they seemed to believe that Mackenzie Boyd could be Moira Dingle’s son.
Fans of the popular ITV show are convinced that there is more to Mackenzie and Moira’s relationship and they are not long-lost siblings like once thought.
On Monday night’s episode, a distressed Mack discussed the death of his mum, with his partner Charity Dingle, but many viewers think there is much more going on.
Taking to Twitter, Emmerdale spectators shared their thoughts.
One fan penned: “Still think moira is gonna turn out to be mack’s mother, moira getting a big storyline around about the time mack is starting to have mum issues hmm.”
Another penned: “If Moira turns out to be Mack’s mum – how old was she when she had him? 10?”
A third said: “Charity isn’t the big bad wolf she does care for Mack! Just a shame there relationship is so toxic – this is all to facilitate Moira being his mum! Gotta be.”
“I wonder how Mack will deal with the inevitable news that Moira is his mummy dearest! This show loves a rehash story!” A fourth exclaimed.
During the episode, Mack was clearly upset about the death of his mum and Charity was on hand to comfort him and offer her support.
She also disclosed the way her mum passed away and how it left her shaken.
But could the discussion on family matters, lead to an unexpected plot twist?
Mack first appeared in the Dales in 2020 as the son of Ann Boyd and her husband.
However, the young man had a chip on his shoulder as he had a lot to say to his sister Moira.
Speaking about his first appearance on the show, Scottish actor Lawrence Robb told Ok!: “He comes in with a bit of a chip in his shoulder. He’s got a big story about Moira’s past. He’s angry with Moira. He’s decided that he wants to come in and cause a wee bit of havoc for her!”
He also added at the time: “I was saying to Nat — who’s an absolute gem — I’m going to find it extremely difficult to pretend to hate her on the show because she’s so bloody lovely!”
