EastEnders' Gray set for exit as Whitney reports him to police amid Tina corpse horror

Time appears to be running out for EastEnders serial killer Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).

The scheming solicitor panics in upcoming scenes when he sees a cordoned off Argee Bhajee following the gas explosion.

Eve sees him and he explains it’s a big day at the hospital as he can finally hold his baby son Jordan.

Later, he returns to the Argee Bhajee, posing as an insurance broker needing to “asses” the damage.

The builder explains that it all has to be stripped leaving Gray panicked Tina’s body is about to be discovered.

In the café, Whitney Dean (Shona McGerty) overhears Chelsea’s (Zaraah Abrahams) frustrations that Gray hasn’t answered her calls.

Things get heated when Denise Fox (Diane Parish) probes Chelsea about taking her medication and Chelsea rips up her prescription.

Later, with Gray still a no show, she holds Jordan for the first time and is elated but when she shows Gray the pictures later, he accuses her of showing off, faking that he had to work and cruelly berates her.

Whitney later spots her and is shocked at her state. She makes a big decision and goes to the police station and tells them Gray killed Chantelle.

Whitney tells DCI Arthurs everything they want to help Chelsea if she is in danger, leaving Whitney optimistic.

Fearing his crimes are set to be exposed, Gray hastily packs a bag and grabs the family’s passports

The pressure builds for Gray when DCI Arthurs approaches him.

It’s been over a year now since Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) vanished from EastEnders, and in all that time her sister Shirley (Linda Henry) has never given up hope that Tina might one day walk back into the Vic as if she’d never been away.

What she doesn’t know, of course, is that Tina was killed by evil Gray when she found out that he’d murdered Chantelle.

He’s been keeping up a twisted pretence that Tina might be alive by claiming to the Carters that he’s seen her around London.

Upcoming episodes see Shirley once again take to the streets to search for Tina, this time with the help of Zack Hudson (James Farrar).

Fans will have to wait and see if Tina’s body gets found in the Argee Bargee.

EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One
