Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard was left questioning ITV bosses’ cheque book on Friday morning, as he chatted to Richard Arnold about The Masked Singer.
During a segment with the entertainment correspondent, Richard said: “My goodness, we’ve seen some weird and wonderful – and far-fetched – theories!”
So far these include everyone from Carol Vorderman and Line of Duty star Vicky McClure to The Greatest Showman actress Zendaya.
But she wasn’t the only A-lister mentioned in the list, as Richard also suggested Will Smith and Drake could be hiding behind the Robobunny mask.
Richard then mused: “Possibly the most outrageous judge guess in The Masked Singer history… could Kylie Jenner be Panda?”
Ben giggled: “Oh yes please! Yes please!” – as ITV host Richard joked: “I wonder how big is our cheque book here?”
Ben couldn’t help but question their ITV bosses as he went on: “It’s grown considerably if that’s the guesses!” with Kate Garraway chuckling beside him.
Some of the latest social media theories include iconic singer Charlotte Church as Mushroom, Aled Jones for Traffic Cone and Westlife star Markus Feehily for Robobunny.
It comes after Doughnuts was finally unmasked as football star Michael Owen, who subsequently revealed the reason behind his identity – which hinged on a childhood nickname.
Appearing on Lorraine last week, he explained: “I was presented right at the start with, ‘This is what we’d like you to wear, but if you don’t like it we’ll change something else’.
“But I looked at it at once and thought, ‘Well, whenever I make a mistake at home, all the kids say ‘Dad, you doughnut’, so it suits me anyway.
“As soon as I saw it, I loved it, and it was a brilliant outfit to wear because I could move in it, do those doughnut hip rolls and things like that.”
He added that he’d taken singing lessons to prepare for the appearance on the ITV show, explaining: “I think they tailor the songs. They put them in front of you again and they ask you to sing and do a couple of singing lessons, see if you can do it okay.
“But I think they picked a few good types for me, real crowd pleasers. I think that’s what I was, what the character was, a real crowd-pleaser type of character. I think that’s what got me through.”
GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
