Blackadder legend Brian Blessed set to make waves as Thames river tour guide

Top actor Brian ‘Booming’ Blessed is to turn tour guide after announcing he will be taking passengers up and down the Thames on a river boat cruise.

The loud-voiced legend will become a captain for the night – just like his sea-loving Peppa Pig character Grampy Rabbit – offering fans a `once in a lifetime’ chance to tune in to 90-minutes of his titanic tones as they sail down the river.

The Flash Gordon, Blackadder and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace star will provide live commentary and entertainment throughout the journey.

On board Brian, 85, an avid Daily Star reader, will share anecdotes and trivia of London’s history as well as tales from his lengthy showbiz career.

The actor – famed for his `Gordon’s Alive’ cry in the 1980 space opera movie about the comic book superhero – promises to treat cruisers to a tongue-in-cheek guide to some of his favourite haunts in the capital.

An ad posted on Brian’s social media reads: “Ahoy there shipmates!

“Join (un) official tour guide Brian Blessed for a once in a lifetime sightseeing tour along the Thames!

“Enjoy a free drink and cruise through Henley’s history accompanied by live commentary from the adventurer and beloved actor.

“Take in beautiful views as `Captain Brian’ entertains you with anecdotes, stories and a tongue in cheek tour of Henley by boat.

Tickets costing £50-per-person are selling quickly.

Brian has often expressed his love of travelling by boat and once claimed he rowed down a Malaysian river in a canoe captained by an orangutan.
