Mel B is instantly recognisable as one-fifth of the Spice Girls, leaving fans instantly recognising her on The Masked Singer UK.
The For Once In My Life songstress competed in season two back in January 2021 alongside celebrities including Martine McCutcheon, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and winner Joss Stone.
However, the show wasn’t something she originally wanted to take part in but she confessed to later falling in love with the concept of the hit ITV programme.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Melanie, 46, revealed that she was blown away after dedicated fans uncovered her identity by the shape of her legs.
While being known as Scary Spice, the trailblazer wanted to step out of her comfort zone becoming Seahorse, adding: “You have input in everything but you are basically given choices of a few options.
“I actually wore a version of a catsuit which later I realised was a mistake because as soon as I went out there were all these comments about my legs, people recognised me by my actual legs and the way I walked.”
“That really shocked me but it also made me laugh… How do people know my legs so well?!” she laughed.
Mel also reflected on her initial reaction to joining the show, saying: “Being totally honest my first reaction was ‘no way’, then I watched a few tapes of the show and found it really entertaining and the idea of being totally in disguise really appealed to me.
“When I had conversations with the producers I was even more fascinated because it’s all done in absolute secrecy so it felt like being part of a spy mission.
“I loved it which was why I also did the Spanish version as Jellyfish which was great fun too!”
After joking about her struggles to keep secrets, she admitted that she didn’t tell anybody about her appearance, laughing: “I couldn’t even tell my mum, my lips were zipped and as everyone knows, it’s very hard for me to keep secrets.
“I didn’t tell anyone, not my mum, not my kids, not the girls!”
Should any of her Spice Girls bandmates ever sign up for the show, she believes she’ll instantly be able to recognise them.
“All I can say is if they do I won’t know just like the viewers at home but I’ll be looking out for all the legs because I reckon I know all of them by their bodies too, they will have to wear huge disguises,” she noted.
