The Masked Singer fans are convinced Rockhopper is none other than Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle after a series of “obvious” clues.
The kooky character Rockhopper has the show’s judging panel made up of Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan utterly stumped as they’ve struggled to correctly guess the celebrity face behind the façade.
And as viewers prepare for the semi-final of the popular ITV guessing show, TV detectives couldn’t help but share their latest theories for the five remaining characters online.
With just one episode left, the remaining characters will be battling it out to be crowned the next winner of the ITV programme after Joss Stone’s success last year.
Following last week’s episode, fans believe they have worked out the true identity of the mystery celebrity hiding underneath the mask after several clues have hinted at it being a member of the popular 2000s girl band.
After watching the show for more than a month, viewers believe the TV character is none other than Nadine Coyle after the powerhouse vocalist completely disguised her famous voice to fool the panel and millions of others watching at home.
While Rockhopper’s American accent was world’s away from Nadine’s well-known Irish lilt, there were a series of clues that undoubtedly pointed in the direction of Girls Aloud.
The Greatest Show played out in the background, while Rita Ora took to be a nod to the Greatest Showman star Zendaya, viewers at home took it to be a hint at the Girls Aloud hit single The Show.
Over the weeks, there were also mentions of “jump” – another one of the group’s smash hits and even a mention of “love machine” which when paired with Rockhopper’s tall stature and long legs convinced Nadine was hiding in the costume.
And it didn’t take long before viewers put the dots together, as they shared their theories on the blonde bombshell’s involvement in the show online.
One fan penned: “Girls Aloud did a version of Jump. I think they’re disguising their voice and no one would need to do that more than Nadine” as another agreed: “Rockhopper… The Show… Jump… Love Machine. Nadine Coyle.”
A third chimed in with: “#MaskedSingerUK Rockhopper… The Show… Jump… Love Machine and the ‘first girl group to debut at No. 1’ = Nadine Coyle.”
Elsewhere, another added: “I’ll be flabbergasted if the Rockhopper isn’t Nadine Coyle on #MaskedSingerUK tonight judging by the legs alone.”
