Rachel Stevens addresses shock Dancing On Ice exit as fans demand vote recount

Rachel Stevens has spoken out for the first time since she was voted out of Dancing on Ice on this weekend.

It comes after fans of the popular ITV competition bombarded the star with praise online as they slammed judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean for their low scores on her performance.

The S Club 7 star, 43, was sadly dumped from the show after she found herself in the skate-off against Olympic BMX cyclist Kye White.

Although the blonde bombshell and her professional partner Brendyn Hatfield gave it their all on the big night, the singer couldn’t match the developed skating ability of her TV rival and was eliminated from the competition.

Now, the mum-of-two has thanked her loyal legion of fans online for their unconditional support throughout her experience on the demanding reality show.

In a lengthy post, she summarised her experience online, saying: “Wow, what an incredible experience …

“I’ve taken away so much from my time @dancingonice. I was surrounded by such an amazing team of people, learnt so much and made memories to last a lifetime.”

She added: “It definitely wasn’t the start @brendynhatfield and I had hoped for but I’m so so proud of what we achieved together and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better partner.

“Just the most gorgeous human… kind, patient and so incredibly talented, it was such a pleasure to learn from you everyday and I’ve most definitely made a friend for life, thank you for everything.

“I also want to say a huge thank you for all your messages of love and support throughout my time at DOI it really has meant so much.

“A huge thank you to all the @clodaghb2b and all the production team. Not forgetting my fellow contestants, wishing you all loads of luck, enjoy every second, I’ll be cheering you on!”

It comes after Rachel confessed taking part on the show was a rollercoaster of emotions following her wrist injury which pushed back her appearance on the show by one week.

She previously revealed on This Morning how she had to “learn to skate” all over again in preparation for her debut on the ITV competition.

And it was a tough return for Rachel as she and Brendyn were in the bottom two where she went up against Ria Hebden and Lukasz Rozyck in the skate-off.

The star recorded a clip as she relaxed backstage before she took to the ice and wowed viewers with her routine during Movie Week.

She said: “What a week, what a whirlwind … I’ve felt such a rollercoaster of emotions but most of all what I’m feeling today is grateful.

“Grateful we made it through to next week, for all the love and support, to be able to share this with my gorgeous family, for my incredible, talented partner @brendynhatfield, and to the whole @dancingonice team for all the magic. I don’t want it to end, the dream has just begun …”
