Coronation Street star Kym Marsh had some exciting baby news to share on Tuesday (February 8) as she announced she is set to become a grandma for the second time.
The former soap star, 45, took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her fanbase that her son David, 26, and partner Courtney are expecting their first child together.
Kym shared a sweet snap to her account of a baby-grow with the words ‘Baby Cunliffe’ emblazoned on the front, along with a calendar flipped to August to show the due date.
Also visible were three sweet ultrasound snaps of her latest grandchild.
Kym wrote alongside the post: “I have been bursting to share this news for AGES!!!! I’m so very proud to announce I am gonna be a YaYa again!!!
“My wonderful son @cunliffe890 and his equally wonderful fiancée @courtneyleac are expecting their first child in August! I am so very proud of you both and I cannot wait to meet my newest grandchild!! I love you all so much.”
Her followers and former co-stars rushed to congratulate her, with Helen Flanagan – who played Rosie Webster on the cobbles – posting: “Congratulations darling!”
Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, added: “Aww congratulations to you all.”
TV presenter Tonia Buxton commented: “Congratulations. You really are the hottest Yiaya there ever was!”
Kym became a grandma to her first grandchild back in 2019, when her daughter Emilie Cunliffe gave birth to a baby boy.
In her emotional announcement, Kym gushed: “Last night was a night I will never forget. I became a ‘Loli’ for the first time.
“My beautiful daughter was an absolute warrior and her partner and I were the best birthing team we could be.
“I was so honoured to have been a part of bringing him into the world. My beautiful grandson, I love you, I will always love you and I promise to help guide you through life as best I can.
“Welcome to the world ‘Baby Hoz’, name to follow.”
Kym’s daughter Emilie said at the time: “Welcome to the world my precious baby boy.
“You have filled a space in my heart that I never even knew was there, and you’ve managed to take over the whole of it.
“I’ve never felt a love like it. My life is complete, thanks to you.”
However, that year Kym admitted she was stressed about becoming a granny for the first time in her 40s, telling the Loose Women panel: “I’ve told Emilie you can’t call me grandma or nanny.
“I’ve been really stressing out about it.
“I’m going to be called Lolly, as in Lolly and Pop.”
