Dancing On Ice star Bez has apologised to his fellow contestants for staying in the competition too long.
The Happy Mondays musician, who has been impressing fans with his wobbly dance routines on Sunday nights said he feels “awful” that other stars are being voted off instead of him.
And although he has been ranked as a favourite to win the show, Bez, 57, can’t help but feel guilty.
Speaking candidly, the star told The Sun: “I feel so awful for everyone, like Ben. He skated brilliantly and he was really strong, doing massive lifts on his first skate. I felt really bad.
“Then Ria went out and I felt really bad again. Then Rachel went and she’s so beautiful. I was like, ‘Aarrrgh!’
“We’ve got a group chat and I send my love and that in there.”
Bez also mentioned that the judges having the final say on who ultimately goes home, saves him from “crumbling” each week.
The news comes after Ben Foden’s wife Jackie slammed the ITV show for being “pointless” and an “unfair popularity contest” after her husband was voted off early in the competition.
Fans were also annoyed when singer Rachel Stevens left the show abruptly last week, despite being a favourite to win the show.
Bez, who is the only celeb to skate in the live shows with a helmet on his head, previously explained that he is accident prone and the ice is far too “slippy” for him.
The old-time rocker has also had a terrible injury during training while on the ice.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star in January, Bez said: I’ve had a few [injuries] – nothing major but quite bruised and battered though.
“I’ve been doing some spectacular falls mostly involving my head crashing into the ice – I wear a helmet.
Nothing too serious and I’ve actually got a little bit better this week – I only fell over once yesterday so I’m improving.”
When the star was asked if his accidents were a reflection of his skating ability he agreed that it was and replied: “Definitely.”
Viewers will have to wait till Sunday to see if Bez makes it till next week.
