Presenter Bradley Walsh was in a rather cheeky mood after he made a joke about a contestant’s poor performance during the latest episode of The Chase.
Blonde beauty Libbie, who was from Bradford, had hopes of winning a large sum of cash on the ITV show.
However, Libbie’s nerves seemed to get the better of her in the cash builder round and she only managed to answer three questions correctly.
Bradley, 61, was also fairly surprised by the player and joked that even “some animals” could have answered her set of questions.
The star quipped: “Some of those questions there, some of your animals could have got.”
However, Bradley also highlighted the fact Libbie appeared nervous while on the show to which she agreed.
But when the contestant asked Bradley if she was able to have another go, he simply replied: “Ummm no.”
Although she managed to gain £3,000 in the cash builder round, Libbie – who had hoped to use her winnings for her upcoming wedding – decided to go for the lower offer.
When chaser Shaun Wallace tempted her with the option of going for the higher offer of £27,000, Libbie thought it would be best to go for the safer proposal on the table which was £1,000.
Libbie’s team members also tried to advise her to stick to the amount that she had already earned, however the player was firm with her decision.
Seeing her take the lower proposition early on in the competition, viewers at home were clearly annoyed and quickly rushed to Twitter to vent.
One viewer penned: “Imagine traveling to the The Chase studios and taking £1k, the low offer, what’s the f***ing point?”
Another said: “First contestant already ruined it. Hope they get caught now.”
A third annoyed fan wrote: “Low offer straight off. Surely a first.”
Meanwhile, a fourth disgruntled viewer commented: “F*** off Libbie. You took the low offer.”
Despite viewers’ annoyance, Libbie was the only contestant to make it through it to the final on the show after the other players were unfortunately caught by the chaser.
The Chase airs weeknights at 5pm on ITV
