8 out of 10 Cats fans heartbroken as Channel 4 airs one of Sean Lock's final episodes

Sean Lock made one of his final appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown during the latest Channel 4 episode, which fans dubbed ‘bittersweet’.

The late comedian passed away in August last year following a secret battle with lung cancer.

In a tweet before Friday’s show, the official 8 Out of 10 Cats Twitter page said it would feature “the late great Sean Lock in one of his last appearances on the show.”

Sean appears alongside Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson, Harry Hill, Rachel Riley, Susie Dent and Rosie Jones in the episode, which viewers on Twitter described as ‘both lovely and sad’, as well as ‘bittersweet’.

A fourth fan said: “Watching Sean Lock on 8 out of 10 cats in what looks like one of the last series he filmed. Unbelievably sad losing such a comedy talent. Nobody like him.”

“There’s a new 8 Out of 10 Cats on with Sean Lock right now. Presumed his episodes were done,” a fifth fan concluded.

The episode saw Sean crack a number of jokes.

Asked by Jimmy Carr if he had acquired any new skills over the coronavirus lockdown, Sean revealed the one thing he worked on was to try and get his Uber rating down to one star.

He said: “There’s a skill in getting it down to one.

“Lots of different things like I would start with just making animal noises in the back. Just all the animal noises for the journey, and that just annoyed them.

“Then, I got more sophisticated, I hollowed out a Halloween pumpkin on the seat – they don’t like that.”

Sean added that he also ‘read his book with a sparkler’ and ‘refused to stop playing his anti-travel sickness bongos’ to annoy his Uber drivers.

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown continues next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
