English actress Sheridan Smith OBE has taken the world by storm with her incredible talent, likeable on-screen persona and gorgeous looks.
The star first came to prominence after playing a variety of characters on British sitcoms such as The Royle Family, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and of course Gavin & Stacey from 2008-2010.
But although she is known to put on a spectacular performance on TV and on stage, like most actors, the Starstruck judge previously confessed that she isn’t always comfortable with stripping off for her roles.
Despite her reservations, the award-winning actress has managed to put on an enticing display for her audiences with her steamy performances throughout the years.
Daily Star has taken a look at Sheridans’ steamiest moments to date.
Love Soup
Sheridan first decided to bare some flesh in the British comedy-drama Love Soup.
Playing the role of Cleo Martin in the BBC show, Sheridan admitted that it was a “nerve-wracking” experience to take part in an intimate scene.
Discussing the role in 2008, she said: “It was very nerve-wracking. It’s such a strange business, isn’t it, where you can go, ‘Hello, I’m Sheridan’, then someone shouts action and you rip each other’s clothes off!
However, the star admitted that she didn’t have to reveal all of her body at the time and because it was a comedy scene things didn’t go to plan for her character Cleo.
She added: “The scene doesn’t go too far. I had to whip my dress off and my underwear, but you don’t see too much.”
Grownups
Only a few weeks after filming Love Soup, Sheridan was asked to disrobe again for BBC 3 sitcom, Grownups.
Grownups explored the lives and the relationships of a group of twenty-somethings who hail from Manchester.
Playing the role of Michelle Booth, a 27-year-old nutritionist who lived in the trendy Northern Quarter of the city, Sheridan certainly stole the show with her stellar performance and hilarious anecdotes.
However, when it was time to bare some flesh, the actress admitted that she was now getting into the swing of things.
Talking to Metro she said: “I’ve got into my swing now, I might ask for more sex scenes now I’ve broken the ice,” she laughs. More men please!”
Sheridan’s scenes certainly stole the show as the star stripped down to skimpy lingerie and outfits which showed off her cleavage on camera, and fans were loving it.
The Teacher
Sheridan recently caused controversy when she starred as Jenna Smith in Channel 5’s drama The Teacher.
Jenna’s life is turned upside down when she is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her students.
Speaking about her role in the drama, Sheridan admitted that it is often uncomfortable to watch.
Without giving a way too much of the plot, she explained: “She tries to be a mate to her students, which is her undoing in the end. There are teacher-student boundaries and she has maybe let that slip.”
To provide a realistic portrayal, Sheridan took part in intimate scenes and often distracted viewers with the length of her character’s mini-skirt.
Fans took to social media to share their shock at the “inappropriate” outfit, as one said: “Sheridan Smith is awesome as always. BUT no teacher in the land wears a skirt that short to work. Really???”
Another added: “A teacher just wouldn’t be allowed to wear such a short skirt. More importantly, a good teacher wouldn’t want to.”
Baring all for charity
In 2011, Sheridan bravely stripped off her clothes in front of a live audience for West End Bares fund-raiser.
Although she was given the push to bare all by her co-host Gok Wan, Sheridan didn’t seem too keen to strip off.
According to the Mirror, a guest who attended the event at the time said: “Sheridan really didn’t want to get her kit off but Gok took the mic and started chanting at her to do it in front of everyone.
“Sheridan felt she had to because money was at stake for charity. She was fairly mortified afterwards and ran off stage in a hurry, Gok has some making up to do.”
Later on, Sheridan took to Twitter and said: “I will never forgive @therealgokwan for making me flash my fat a*** and belly in public.”
The star-studded event took place at London’s Cafe de Paris and raised more than £35,000 for HIV/Aids charity the Make A Difference Trust at the time.
