ITV No Return fans distracted as they spot Noah actor is son of Lord of the Rings star

One of the lead actors in ITV’s No Return is related to a famous Hollywood star.

The gritty ITV drama boasts a star-studded cast including Benidorm actress Sheridan Smith and Sherlock star Sian Brooke.

However, when the gritty ITV drama returned to screens on Monday night (February 14), some fans were distracted by the show’s young lead actor – Louis Ashbourne Serkis.

That’s because they realised he is the son of Lord of the Rings actor Andy Serkis, who famously played Gollum in the Oscar-winning fantasy trilogy directed by Peter Jackson.

Louis plays Sheridan’s on-screen son Noah in the crime series which is set in Turkey – which follows a family holiday that takes a horrible turn.

Sixteen-year-old Noah gets locked up in prison on suspicion of sexually assaulting another boy – and he faces a 12-year prison sentence.

Sheridan’s Kathy is Noah’s worried mum who is desperate to prove authorities that her teen son is innocent.

When the drama returned on Monday, it saw a heartbroken Kathy visit her son Noah in prison – but things were looking hopeless for her boy until a potential witness turned up at her door, claiming she could help Noah.

Eagle-eyed fans appeared to be more interested in Louis and his dad, though, and they flocked to Twitter to chat about it.

One fan wrote: “Is the lad played by the son of Andy Serkis? Looks very much like him #noreturn”.

A second replied: “Yes he is! Thought the same myself.”

A third replied to the thread with a thumbs-up emoji.

Another wanted to praise Louis’ acting – and felt like he was going to follow in his parents’ footsteps.

That’s because Louis’ mum Lorraine Ashbourne is a well-renowned actress in her own right, having starred in TV shows like The Street, Casualty and Thin Ice.

She’s also appeared on the theatre circuit – starring in Othello alongside her hubby Andy.

They wrote: @LouisSerkis is as good as his parents. He will have a good future”

Another fan replied: “He most certainly will.”

Seventeen-year-old Louis is the youngest son of Andy and Lorraine – with an older brother called Sonny and older sister called Ruby.

Louis has appeared in other major projects including the 2016 film Alice: Through the Looking Glass – which stars the likes of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

He also acted as Alex in the fantasy film The Kid Who Would Be King (2019).
