Gogglebox fans left feeling 'sick' as Ellie and Izzi let pooches drink from their mugs

The brand new series of Gogglebox kicked off on Channel 4 on Friday night but fans were left feeling rather “queasy” with the opening scenes.

The popular reality show started off showing Ellie and Izzi Warner’s dogs on their famous sofas while the two sisters could be heard in the background.

As the two women complained about the dog’s “pooing” around their home one of the pups could be seen drinking tea from a cup.

Although it was fairly amusing, some viewers thought it was rather sickening to watch.

Jumping onto Twitter, one fan said: “One of Ellie’s dogs drinking from her glass at the beginning made me feel very queasy.”

Another penned: “That’s why I wouldn’t have a dog …..ducks.”

A third exclaimed: “The dog drinking the tea!!!”

While a fourth viewer advised that the girls should probably try to take their dogs out on a walk and said: “Take your dogs out for a walk then they won’t p*** and s***,quite simple eh!”

Channel 4 viewers were clearly delighted for the return of Gogglebox on Friday and rushed to Twitter to share their excitement regarding the new series.

But one cast regular was missing from the show after testing positive with coronavirus earlier in the week.

Hairdresser Stephen Webb and his partner Daniel Lustig were gutted to be missing the start of the new series after Stephen contracted Covid-19.

Taking to Instagram on Monday Stephen shared a video with fans to update them on how he is currently feeling and gave them a glimpse of his isolation room.

Holding his dog in his arms while filming the short clip, a downhearted Stephen expressed: “This is a message for the Gogglebox crew.

Good luck filming this week, can’t wait to see you Friday, I need a laugh.

He continued: “I’m off, we can’t film this week because I’ve got covid.”

Daniel, who was seen sitting in another room behind him chimed: “We locked him up in this room for everyone’s benefit.”

Showing off his bedroom on camera, Stephen added: “Look at my little room. Tiny little bed, little bathroom, little old me stuck out here on me own.

“Anyway, can’t wait to watch you on Friday, have a good one,” he concluded.
