Saturday Night Takeaway returned tonight to mark the occasion Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly got into drag with the three winners from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace.
Looking completely fierce for the End Of The Show Show on the popular ITV programme, Ant and Dec donned high heels, wigs and stunning sparkly dresses as they frolicked on the stage with the professional drag queens.
The Vivienne stepped out of a car and was then met by Lawrence and Krystal as they entered the studio together – moments before a huge surprise left fans in disbelief.
Fans could not believe their eyes when Ant and Dec appeared on stage in full drag, with Ant donning a red wig and Dec in a platinum blonde one.
They sashayed, danced and even sung, dubbing themselves as Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee – clearly their new punny drag names.
Twitter was ablaze with praise for the show, with many fans were quick to comment on Ant and Dec’s epic transformation.
On fan took to Twitter to say: “How did they get ready so fast? Look amazing in drag, Who would of thought!”
Another then said: “#SaturdayNightTakeaway absolutely brilliant boys, you both looked fab!”
While a third penned: “Ant & Dec in drag is all I needed in my life. I AM SCREAMING THEY LOOKED AMAZING.”
A fourth praised the show for representing the drag community by tweeting: “@antanddec Best end of the show show ever! It makes me so happy to see the drag community represented on prime time TV! It’s a massive display of inclusivity and acceptance so thank you!!”
Fans couldn’t choose between their favourite out of Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee – but one thing was clear, their performance and drag transformation was a complete hit with viewers at home.
This came as the host of BBC’s Drag Race RuPaul joined the two hosts as the first guest announcer of the series.
RuPaul introduced new segments and guests, while also promising that an impressive Drag Queen performance will take place – and oh boy did he deliver.
Saturday Night Takeaway continues weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
