Sheridan Smith swipes at Adam Lambert as she tells StarStruck contestants 'ignore him'

Sheridan Smith clashed with Adam Lambert as they reviewed the performance of the latest batch of contestants on their talent finding show.

Adam, 40, got his StarStruck co-star’s back up when he dashed the hopes of one set of impersonators on the show as he said he “didn’t hear” Michael Buble in their performance.

Gobsmacked Sheridan, 40, couldn’t believe her ears and very quickly shot down her fellow judge for his harsh critique of the trio.

Adam said: “I have good news and bad news, I’ll start with the good news first. All three of you are so sweet and so likeable and you look great. You’re very chic. I love the transformations. But I’m going to be honest.

“I don’t know if I necessarily got distinct Buble out of your vocals. I feel like there was a good stage presence, I just feel like I wasn’t able to close my eyes and hear Michael Buble fully.”

Sheridan then cut in as she swiped: ” It’s not just about the vocal, you guys nailed it I thought. You three Buble’s were fabulous. Don’t listen to him.”

The pair then playfully showed each other their fists as they pretended to fight.

However, viewers took to Twitter to side with Adam in the quarrel as they failed to see validity in Sheridan’s input.

One wrote: “Adam Lambert so honest about the Buble team. I totally agreed and that was before the judges gave there critiques after the performance.”

Another added: “#Starstruck Sheridan saying Adam Lambert doesn’t know what he’s talking about because he couldn’t hear Bublè. Must mean the rest of us are deaf as well.”

A third continued: “In all fairness, Adam Lambert can question anyone’s vocal ability… be quiet Sheridan.”

Another social media user chimed in: “Thought Sheridan Smith was bloody rude to Adam Lambert.”

A fifth fan said: “Well done Adam! At last #, honestly and Sheridan, just because you fawned over them doesn’t me they all have to! They were shite!!”

Elsewhere on the popular new offering – which is hosted by former X Factor star Olly Murs – Adam, Sheridan, and their fellow judges Beverley Knight and Jason Manford cast their expert opinion of performers who embodied their idols Cher, George Michael, and Alicia Keys.

The ultimate winner on the night who will head into the final alongside last weeks Freddie Mercury was Cher impersonator Rachel.

StarStruck continues Saturday, February 26, at 8.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
