Paul Chuckle signs up to BBC's Celebrity MasterChef with comedian 'huge fan' of show

Entertainer Paul Chuckle has signed up for Celebrity MasterChef.

The comedian is a huge fan of the BBC show and cannot wait to get into the TV kitchen.

Paul – one half of The Chuckle Brothers – is a keen amateur chef too.

During lockdown he posted numerous videos on YouTube showing off his talents making dishes such as moussaka and bread and butter pudding.

He and his late brother Barry (who died in 2018) even had a show called Chucklevision: What’s Cooking where they ran a bakery.

And a few years ago, the pair were touted as replacements to front Bake Off when Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins quit.

Paul said at the time: “We do know a lot about custard creams, cakes and biscuits.”

The BBC is filming a brand new series of Celebrity MasterChef hosted by Gregg Wallace and John Torode which will run later this year.

Other names in the frame for the show is former Fulham footballer Jimmy Bullard, ex-Corrie favourite Ryan Thomas and Strictly’s Katya Jones.

The Chuckle Brothers were huge hits in the 90s and 00s

Last year’s series was won by Paralympian Kadeena Cox.

Masterchef has just signed a new six year deal to stay on air until 2028 and its filming will move to Birmingham.

A MasterChef spokesperson said: “We do not comment on speculation over the Celebrity MasterChef line-up.”

They were best known and loved for their BBC children’s programme ChuckleVision, which was a hit with children who grew up in the 90s and 00s.

The programme celebrated its twenty-first series with a 2010 stage tour titled An Audience with the Chuckle Brothers.

The comedy of the Chuckle Brothers usually derived from slapstick, other visual gags, and wordplay, and their catchphrases included “To me, to you!” and “Oh dear, oh dear!”
