American film director James Gunn popped the special question to his long time girlfriend Jennifer Holland.
James who directed The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy made the announcement on Twitter.
In a post shared on Sunday afternoon showed his girlfriend, the actress Jennifer Holland, wearing an engagement ring.
Jennifer replied to the tweet with a smiling with three hearts emoji.
Before James shared the photo of Jennifer’s new engagement ring, she posted an image of the two of them together standing in front of a rainbow which she captioned “happiness”.
James,55, and Jennifer,35, have been in a long term relationship since 2015.

The duo were introduced by James’s friend Michael Rosenbaum, known for his role as Lex Luthor in the TV series Smallville.
Michael had offered to set them up after the director saw a photograph of Jennifer and asked who she was.
Jennifer admitted she had never heard of the director despite the fact his filmography is very iconic.
They clicked on their first date, she said: “I just told him my whole life story. We spent like seven hours together and that’s it. That’s how it started.”

They’ve had the opportunity to work closely on multiple projects over the last couple of years, with Jennifer taking on a supporting role in The Suicide Squad.
Among those offering their congratulations in the comments were several actors including, The Suicide Squad star Viola Davis and Guardians actress Karen Gillan.

When the series was announced, Jennifer’s character – Emilie Harcourt – acted as one of the main stars of the series.
James was previously married to The Office star Jenna Fischer, they split in 2007 after six years of marriage.
The movie director has also written a number of iconic movies including, Scooby Doo, Slither and The Belko Experiment.
