This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have sent ‘lots of love’ to Brenda Edwards following the death of her son Jamal Edwards.
The SB.TV founder passed away from a sudden illness on Sunday morning at the age of 31.
Loose Women star Brenda confirmed Jamal’s passing in a gut-wrenching statement and reacting to the news on the latest episode of This Morning, Phil and Holly sent their ‘deepest sympathies and lots of love’ to their ITV colleague.
Discussing the tragic death with guests Camilla Tominey and Gyles Brandreth, Phillip said: “Our deepest sympathies and lots and lots of love to Brenda and Tinasha and their whole family.
“We’re so desperately sorry.”
Holly added: “Yes, we’re so sorry.”
Of Brenda’s devastating loss, Gyles added: “There’s no sadness greater I think than losing your own child during your lifetime.
“It’s not something that you expect to happen. It seems against nature. Heartbreaking.”
Brenda has received an outpouring of love from her ITV colleagues since news of Jamal’s death broke.
Her Loose Women co-stars past and present have all shared their own ‘heartbreak’ for Brenda online.
Alongside tributes from Denise Welch, Charlene White and Saira Khan, former Loose Women host Andrea McLean said on Instagram: “My heart hurts today. Jamal is gone. My friend’s beautiful boy is gone.
“I’m so sorry Brenda. So sorry.”
Of Jamal, Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid said: “He was a hugely influential figure and obviously, we send our huge love to Brenda and to his family and to everyone affected.”
The official Loose Women Twitter page also sent out a statement which read: “Our thoughts are with Brenda today.”
Jamal rose to fame as the founder of the urban music platform SB.TV, which helped launch the careers of stars including Ed Sheeran, Dave and Jessie J.
