This Morning's Holly Willoughby in dental horror as hubby's romantic meal goes wrong

Holly Willoughby has revealed she suffered a nasty dental injury after a romantic meal with her husband Dan went horribly wrong.

This Morning star Holly told the dental horror story at the start of Tuesday’s edition of the ITV chat show, which she hosts with her TV pal Phillip Schofield.

The broadcast had only just begun when Phillip decided to pause the show and tell ITV viewers about what Holly had told him just before they went live.

Phillip said: “She just said thirty seconds ago… in fact, only ten seconds ago, ‘I chipped my tooth on a mussel yesterday…’

Phil carried on: “I said ‘what, Dan’s?'”, which left co-host Holly giggling beside him on the sofa.

Holly then revealed that Dan’s mea didn’t go to plan as she chipped her tooth whilst biting into a mussel during the dinner.

She said: “Dan cooked for me, very nicely. It was very nice. It was sort of cod in a broth. There were like mussels in it which is quite brave, because you know what I’m like with mussels.”

Holly went on: “As I sort of fished them out and went to eat it, there was a tiny little bit of shell in there.”

Reassuring viewers, she added: “Luckily, I think it’s the back of my tooth, so it’s all alright.”

Phil replied: “Alright…”, before cheekily replying: “I just thought for a minute he had been working out!”

Holly quickly replied: “No.”

She tied the knot with TV producer Dan Baldwin back in August 4 2007 – and the pair live in Barnes, London with their two sons and daughter.

Dan is the co-founder of Hungry Bear Media, and he used to produce Ministry of Mayhem before becoming an executive producer on Celebrity Juice.

Holly and Dan actually met on Ministry of Mayhem, a children’s entertainment show.

She told Loose Women: “We met on Saturday mornings and we became really, ridiculously close friends and it was like this intensity of friendship for about ten, 15 weeks or something and then I remember cheersing him with a glass and looking at him and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I fancy him.

“I fancy my friend.’ It took me so by surprise and I thought, ‘Oh god, what’s just happened.”

She added: “In hindsight looking back, I think I was actually falling in love with him. I think that’s what that intensity was but I didn’t necessarily recognise it.”
