BBC The One Show's Alex Jones shares glam behind-the-scenes snap inside Buckingham Palace

When The One Show moved into Buckingham Palace for a special episode, Welsh host Alex Jones decided to give fans a sneak peak behind the scenes of the fancy London palace.

Welsh presenter Alex, 44, is normally seen on the famous green sofa in the BBC One studio, but the show got a royal makeover after it relocated to Buckingham Palace on Wednesday (February 23).

It meant Alex and her co-star Ronan Keating, 44, were sat in remarkably plush surroundings as they delivered the special edition of the show.

They were joined by Masterchef star Moniva Galetti and former member of parliament Gyles Brandreth.

The royal episode aired to mark 100 days until the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – which will honour the monarch for being in service for a whopping 70 years.

Taking to Instagram, Alex decided to catch up with her fans – and offer them an exclusive look inside the gorgeous royal household.

Firstly, she shared a snap of her white Platinum Jubilee mug which featured a crown on it – with a caption that fittingly read: “One’s rehearsal cuppa”.

The TV star was clearly sat in one of the vast Palace rooms – with BBC cameras in the background and an red elaborate floral carpet.

She then posed in the mirror before she went live to the nation, and she was sporting a glamorous white dress for the occasion.

She captioned the snap: “Final checks”.

A second commented: “What’s on tomorrow’s #TheOneShow then? 305 days to go until Christmas special? #cringe.”

A third added: “Wtaf, celebrating 100 days to go before the queens jublie #TheOneShow,”

However, it seems many One Show viewers weren’t particularly impressed with the early Jubilee show.

One fan wrote: “This is all a bit much. Sorry. #theoneshow.”

Celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will take place in the summer – running from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June with a four day bank holiday.
