Viewers were left in stitches after Lorraine Kelly took a savage swipe at Vladimir Putin after Russian invasion as she compared his face to a melted candle.
The beloved Scott, 62, appeared on Friday’s (25 February) instalment of The Last Leg as the comics discussed the concerning developments following the ongoing war in the Ukraine.
Russia has since launched a “full-scale invasion of Ukraine” with fighting now going on in most parts of the country as thousands of civilians take up arms to defend their country.
She joined Australian host Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker on the late-night Channel 4 show and as they shared their concerns for civilians overseas the loving mum couldn’t help but poke fun at the Prime Minister’s appearance.
During the hour-long comedy show, Lorraine alleged that the political leader has had plastic surgery on his face which has left him looking like a “melted candle”.
She said: “What is going on with this odd, strange, bizarre person that is Putin? You can’t tell anything about him because he’s had so much work done, allegedly, that his face is so weird.
“It looks like a candle has melted and then hardened. He’s tiny, and he wears high heels.”
And viewers soon flocked to social media to praise the brunette beauty on her savage comments online throughout the show.
One user penned: “Lorraine Kelly taking down Putin on The Last. Leg with gossip is brilliant.”
Another agreed: “Lorraine Kelly ripping into Putin on The Last Leg has really tickled me, Putin wears high heels, he’s only 5 foot 7.”
A third chimed in with: “Lorraine just said that Putin’s face is like a candle melted and re-hardened and she’s right.”
It comes after the presenter was criticised for downplaying the crisis in Ukraine after she cut the coverage of the ongoing crisis on the show for an exclusive interview with rocker Avril Lavigne.
In a sudden topic change, the Scott prematurely ended the coverage of the war-torn country as she bluntly said “life goes on” before she introduced the Sk8er Boi singer.
Following the impromptu attack earlier on in the week, at least 198 Ukrainians – including three children – have been reported dead with a further 1,115 people wounded so far.
