ITV viewers accuse Lorraine Kelly of 'bias' against Meghan and Harry in Ukraine chat

ITV viewers have accused Lorraine Kelly of throwing a shady look at her royal correspondent while they discussed Harry and Meghan’s response to the Russia Ukraine attack.

During Monday’s instalment of the popular morning show, the loveable Scott was joined by Russell Myers to discuss how the royal family reacted to the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

As the 34-year-old sat down with his fellow co-host, he incorrectly declared that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a touching tribute to the families in the war-torn country first.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan appeared at the 2022 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday (26 February) where they gave an emotional speech as they accepted an award for their public service to struggling citizens facing conflict in the Ukraine.

In a short statement on Twitter, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future.

Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future [Ukrainian flag emoji] W & C.”

However viewers believe Prince Harry and Meghan received a cold reaction to their post about the ongoing conflict overseas as they posted a joint statement on the website of their Archewell Foundation.

It read: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the local community and its leaders to do the same.”

During the awards ceremony, the pair added: “We would like to acknowledge the people of Ukraine who urgently need our continued support as a global community.”

But eagle-eyed viewers believe that the 62-year-old revealed her alleged bias towards the future king of England as she threw a suspicious glance at Russell during his breakdown of the Royal family.

And fans of the daytime show soon flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts on the questionable exchange online.

One user wrote: #Lorraine Kate and William wasn’t the first. They practically copy Harry and Meghan’s statement which they put first and was criticized for it.

“Yet nothing was said on Kate and William doing exactly the same. Really can’t stand the hypocrisy of @GMB their so biased it’s unbelievable.”

Another argued: “Soo disappointed in #lorraine this morning Harry & Meghan said the same thing as William and Kate why the negative energy towards them I’m confused if you don’t like them don’t talk about them on the show.”

A third questioned: “Why on earth is she so bitter and mardy about Harry and Meghan, does she work for the daily mail or something? #lorraine.”

Elsewhere, one fan of the show pointed out: “When William spoke about the Ukraine Lorraine was full of praise. Then when Harry spoke you could see the look of disdain on her face was obvious. Grow up Lorraine [angry emoji] #lorraine.”
