Alison King rocked the cobbles when she joined Coronation Street in 2006.
The 48-year-old actress arrived on screens as brunette bombshell Carla Connor.
Throughout the years, Carla has been married three times – having previously married Paul Connor off-screen in 1999 – and has endured her fair share of heartbreak in recent times.
The character lost her half-brother Aidan (Shayne Ward) to suicide in 2018 and her father Johnny (Richard Hawley) in October.
The Connor family patriarch died in the ITV soap’s recent sinkhole tragedy.
But as Alison King celebrates her birthday (March 3), Daily Star is taking a look at her life away from the cameras.
Modelling career
Alison King was born in Leicester in 1973.
After studying drama at Groby Community College and working for four years as a dental nurse, the fledging actress landed a role on now-cancelled soap Brookside.
She later appeared as Lynda Block in the Sky One drama series Dream Team but before her Corrie days, Alison was best known for her modelling career.
The actress was the face of Boddingtons beer in 2004.
She also famously appeared in the recurring Daz soap opera ad Cleaner Close, which made her a household name.
Cosmetic surgery
Alison has previously confessed to having cosmetic surgery on her teeth.
The Corrie star was conscious of her gnashers after sucking her thumb as a child and underwent corrective surgery during her drama school days.
In 2015, she had more surgery on her teeth, telling dentistry.co.uk: “As an actress on-screen I’d begun to notice how my top and bottom front teeth had been pushed into the middle where my thumb has been.
“It was during my time at drama school that I decided to undergo cosmetic surgery at a dental practice in London, however I wasn’t completely satisfied with the final result and always felt there was room for improvement.”
Soap romance
Alison once dated a former Coronation Street colleague.
The actress found love shortly after joining the soap with its sound technician, Adam Huckett.
The pair dated for five years and even got engaged, with Alison giving birth to the couple’s first child in 2009 – though in October 2012, she confirmed their relationship was over.
Alison has since moved on with her IT technician fiancé David Stuckey.
In 2020, the couple were forced to postpone their lavish Greek wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Stalker horror
Alison was targeted by a terrifying female stalker back in 2014.
The actress reportedly asked ITV bosses for more security after a woman was said to have waited for her around the set of Coronation Street in MediaCityUK, Salford..
Alison was later horrified when the woman showed up at a public appearance she made, ignoring her requests to stay away.
Of the stalker, a source previously told The Sun: “Her behaviour has grown more intense and Alison is very distressed.
“The worry is the woman will find out where she lives.”
