Emmerdale viewers are sure they’ve spotted a clue that serial killer Meena Jutla is set to die in prison before she can atone properly for her crimes.
Meena has been attempting to manipulate vicar Charles from behind bars, and seems to be treating the prison officers like minions – directing them where to go with a flick of her fingers and candidly confessing to her crimes in the visiting room.
And as well as that, she’s been slowly manipulating other inmates for more time on the phone – with some significant looks exchanged.
But it might not be the other prisoners who eventually bring her down, as fans are concerned that Meena will succumb to her internal injuries after being pushed off the humpback bridge by Liam Cavanagh.
She has been consistently clutching her ribs and moving as though she’s in pain.
And one astute fan predicted: “Who thinks Meena is going to die from internal bleeding? She keeps heavy breathing and clutching her ribs… #Emmerdale.”
As another guessed: “Is Meena going to die in prison???”
“I think Meena has internal injuries and could die in her cell,” someone else said.
As a fourth fan followed up: “I don’t think Meena is very well? Is she going to die & cheat justice?”
“Meena will probs die of internal bleeding in prison!” someone else said.
Others, however, think her interactions with one other inmate in particular could signal the end for Meena as she finally meets her match, with one viewer writing: “With 7 months to go til the big 50th I don’t think Meena will be exiting anywhere I think she will be killed off but I have a feeling they will doing something to match the plane crash somehow.”
Another soon agreed: “They did show a prisoner staring at her.”
If Meena does die in prison, it would be a blow to both her victims and fans watching at home, who are concerned she won’t get justice if she dies too soon.
But with some fans suggesting she could escape prison and return in time for the soap’s 50th anniversary in October this year, could Meena have even more blood on her hands?
It certainly wouldn’t be out of the question for one or more characters to be killed off in such a big event in Soapland.
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7pm on ITV.
