Gogglebox’s Mary confused RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne for Katie Price in an epic blunder that left fans in hysterics.
During Friday night’s episode of Gogglebox, Mary and Giles were tuning into Celebrity Hunted – a Channel 4 programme that stars drag queen The Vivienne.
Watching the popular programme, when the winner of Drag Race UK appeared on the screen Mary turned to Giles and said: “Is that Katie Price, the one on the left?”
Giles said: “No,” to which Mary replied: “But she gets her face redone every so often.”
“Well, that might be her new face,” Giles suggested.
Fans were quick to take to Twitter to talk about the hilarious blunder, with many completely taken aback by the mix up.
“Not Mary from #Gogglebox confusing @THEVIVIENNEUK for Katie Price,” one viewer penned on Twitter.
Another said: “@C4Gogglebox providing a much needed hour of escapism and laughter this week. Cracking up at @goggleboxgiles confusing The Vivienne with Katie Price #Gogglebox.”
While a third tweeted: “‘Is that Katie Price?’ ‘No’ ‘But she has her face done every so often…’”
A fourth chimed: “Mary throwing shade towards Katie Price is app I ever wanted.”
While a fifth penned: “#Gogglebox mary … is that katie price.”
Mary Killen and her husband Giles Wood shot to fame when they first appeared on Channel 4’s Gogglebox in 2015.
The pair have been wed for 30 years and away from watching the TV and being on it, Mary is a successful author and has written a number of books such as How The Queen Can Make You Happy in 2012.
Not much is known about Giles’ work life, but in a recent episode of Gogglebox, it was revealed that he actually retired when he was 21.
Mary and Giles were immersed in a documentary about Covid-19 when he turned to his wife and commented: “Just as I’m starting to enjoy my retirement.”
“What retirement? You haven’t worked first.
“You retired at 21, so now you can start working – do it in reverse.”
Gogglebox airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and all4.
