Katie Walsh says she would love to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The retired jockey, 37, who rode three winners at the Cheltenham Festival, is keen to swap horses for the creepy crawlies in the jungle.
Katie has been inspired by her racing pal Nina Carberry, who is currently starring in the Irish version of Strictly.
The Betway Ambassador said: “I wouldn’t mind a go in the jungle. It looks like a lot of fun to do. Nina is absolutely flying on Dancing With The Stars and has been phenomenal.
“I like to keep every door open so you never know, you may see me in there one day.”
Katie, who is the sister of multiple champion jockey turned TV pundit Ruby Walsh, added: “I’m not sure there is a comparison between riding horses and lying in a coffin full of rats.
“But you do have to be made of strong stuff to be a jockey.”
ITV confirmed that I’m A Celebrity will return to Australia for the next series, which starts in November, after two years in Wales.
But the show could be hit by a new disaster as the Australian town close to the jungle has been hit by flooding, meaning bosses may be forced to rethink their plans.
Murwillumbah in New South Wales has been hit by extensive damage following the flood, and Emma Hannigan, who lives in the area and is an environmental campaigner, said: “This is climate change.
This is happening here, it’s happening now, and what more is it going to take for our government to take action this decade?”
She told Daily Star: “There has been minor flooding but there is more damage on the way.”
