ITV's Our House suffers technical blunder as channel crashes during first episode

ITV’s latest drama Our House made its debut on TV screens tonight, but viewers were slapped with blank screens when the channel crashed just minutes into the first episode.

The four-part mystery drama, which stars Line of Duty actor Martin Compston, premiered at 9pm on ITV on Monday (March 7), and plenty of eager viewers tuned in to watch the show.

However, within minutes of the show’s first episode starting, the ITV channel crashed, which meant the show disappeared from screens around the UK, meaning viewers missed out on crucial opening scenes.

Some viewers were hit with blank screens, with messages that read: “Service is not running” and “No service”.

Martin plays estranged husband Bram Lawson, and Downton Abbey star Tuppence Middleton plays his on-screen wife Fi.

The thriller, based on Louise Candlish’s novel of the same name, started with Fi returning home to find strangers moving into their suddenly vacant home.

With her house sold, her family’s possessions gone and her husband missing, Fi sets out to work out what happened.

Expect plenty of unexpected twists and turns as Fi switches between flashbacks of her life with Bram and the present-day in order to discover her husband’s hidden past.

The new ITV drama also stars Rupert Penry-Jones (The Drowning) as Toby and Weuche Opia (I May Destroy You) as Fi’s best friend Merle.

Buket Komur (Honour) rounds off the main cast as the mysterious and alluring Wendy.

The next three episodes will air on consecutive nights this week, but all episodes are available on the ITV Hub.
