GMB host Ranvir Singh fires back at co-star Ben Shephard after comedy remark

Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh hit out at her co-star Ben Shephard after he forgot to name any female stars in his list of top UK comics.

On Thursday’s show (March 10), Ranvir and Ben welcomed on British comedian Romesh Ranganathan who has joined forces with other stars to perform at the Apollo in aid of the Ukrainian Humanitarian appeal.

When chatting to Romesh about his upcoming show, Ben said: “I kind of like the idea you, Rob Beckett, Alan Carr, Joel Dommett all getting together…”

Ranvir then quipped: “In the cabinet.”

Ben continued: “And all looking like Dad’s Army.”

Ranvir let him finish his point, then turned to him and snapped: “Where are the women at?”

Ben then nodded and said: “Yeah, Ellie Taylor as well.”

This comes after fellow GMB host Richard Madeley caused a stir with fans of the show after making an “inappropriate” joke to do with the Ukrainian war.

On Wednesday (March 9), Richard received a tonne of backlash after he made an awkward joke about the Russian invasion.

The hosts’ joke came as McDonald’s, Starbucks and Coca Cola had all confirmed they would stop trading in Russia due to the current war situation.

Though as Richard discussed the news with co-star Susanna Reid he joked about it being a “no fry zone” as a nod to the lack of McDonald’s fries being served.

He stated: “I also have to say congratulations…the British tabloids get a lot of criticism and stick.

“But we do have the finest headline writers in the world I think, and I love the headlines and they are all saying the same thing this morning.”

“The McDonald’s story pulling out of Russia, they’re calling a no fry zone.”

Richard laughed at his own joke while Susanna irritatedly rolled her eyes.

Angry GMB viewers stormed to Twitter to share their thoughts on Richard’s rude remark.

While a third added: “Richard Madeley is practically salivating as he discusses the war, it’s disgusting.

A fourth swiped: “Inappropriate Richard Madeley strikes again @GMB #gmb.”

“Richard Madeley just plain embarrassing,” put a fifth.
