Giovanni Pernice has proven that he and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Rose Ayling-Ellis are more than just work pals.
The pair who were crowned the winners of the BBC competition in 2021 grew incredibly close to one another, with viewers often being left in awe of their friendship.
Now, they have shown they will remain friends despite no longer working together after teaming up for the Take A Moment mental health awareness campaign.
The pair can be seen on a giant billboard in London’s famous Piccadilly Circus as they posed for a “beautiful” portrait, taken by legendary photographer Ray Burmiston.
In the snap, EastEnders star Rose, 27, can be seen resting her head on Giovanni’s, 33, while the pair have their eyes closed.
Sharing the snap to his 801,000 Instagram followers, Giovanni penned: “This,” alongside a black heart and a rose emoji, before adding: “The legend @rayburmiston has an exhibition in Piccadilly circus with beautiful portraits to raise awareness of just how important it is to take time for our mental health. Let’s take a moment for #mentalhealthawareness.”
The snap that has since racked up over 53,000 likes was instantly flooded with messages from fans and pals of the pair.
Giovanni’s friend and publicist, Charlotte typed: “So proud of you.”
While one fan added: “Love this! Stunning photo of you both and such an important campaign. Social connection is a fundamental human need and crucial for our health and wellbeing – mentally, neurologically, physically and emotionally, thank you for raising awareness.”
“A picture paints a thousand words! Pure Perfection,” gushed another.
Before a third added: “Such a beautiful picture that represents an even more beautiful friendship, love this.”
“Beautiful photo of you both and creating awareness of something that can be a very difficult time in anyone’s life. Be proud of yourselves,” typed a fourth.
Speaking of the exhibition, photographer Ray said: “Just like the 2020 campaign, it’s once again in aid of mental health awareness, which seems just as appropriate now as it was in the middle of the pandemic.
“There is also a physical exhibition space right below the screens (cleverly called The Take A Moment gallery), which has over 200 of my favourite portraits from the collection. There is also an ambient soundscape that myself and Stephen Dewey have composed especially for the exhibition to make the experience a tad more immersive.
“So if you are in Piccadilly, please go check it out and you can even upload your own eyes closed selfie and be a part of the art for the exhibition finale.”
