Rebel Wilson hits out at Harry and Meghan's Oprah Winfrey interview at BAFTAs

Australian actress Rebel Wilson made a cheeky jibe at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as she presented the BAFTA Film Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday night (March 13).

Sharing her thoughts on the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired on ITV last year, Rebel, 42, joked that it had “drama to fantasy” but was “unfortunately” not nominated for an award.

While introducing the nominations for Outstanding British Film, Rebel said: “From drama to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview had it all.

“Unfortunately, that’s not nominated in this category, but some incredible films are.”

She added: “Let’s take a look at some of the most outstanding British films this year.”

But the Pitch Perfect actress didn’t stop there as she also took a swipe at Prince Andrew during the awards ceremony.

Rebel made reference to the Prince’s Newsnight interview where he denied having sex with Virginia Giuffre.

The Royal expressed that it couldn’t have taken place because he spent the day with his daughter, Princess Beatrice at Pizza Express.

Making the awkward joke, Rebel said: “So I was going to do a musical number as host, it was about Prince Andrew though. Um, no guys, it’s no, it’s not what you think.

“It was on roller skates, it’s called Pizza Express. But don’t worry, I’m not gonna do it, I’m not gonna sing. I’m saving my voice for the sequel to Cats.”

Though many were impressed with Rebel’s presenting skills, outspoken Piers Morgan described it as “cringe”.

The former GMB star, who frequently expressed his disappointment regarding Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview made sure he gave his opinion on Rebel’s remarks.

Jumping onto Twitter, Piers, 56 said: “I’m cringing so violently watching Rebel Wilson attempt to host the #BAFTAs that I fear my eye sockets may explode.”

He then added: “Great to see Rebel Wilson cracking all the jokes that would get a man abused, shamed and cancelled if he cracked them. #BAFTAs.”

The news comes after Piers also made a scathing dig at Kim Kardashian over her comments on being a businesswoman.

Last week, Kim shared her thoughts on what it takes to be successful in business to Variety and said those who want to be great at what they do need to “get your f**king a** up and work”.

But taking to Twitter, Piers seemed to bite back.

Sharing a quote from the article on Twitter, the presenter said: “Says the woman who built her whole career off a sex tape.”
