Rylan shuts down troll after being accused of 'mincing about as people die in Ukraine'

Rylan Clark-Neal has hit back at a nasty remark from a social media troll who accused him of “mincing about as people die in Ukraine”.

The BBC Radio 2 host innocently took to Twitter to ask his followers whether he should get a tattoo.

The Strictly It Takes Two presenter, 33, tweeted: “Think I want a tattoo….. is this midlife or….”

After posting the harmless tweet, Rylan was faced with one harsh and rude comment from a Twitter user who accused him of “mincing about”.

The troll tweeted: “People dying in Ukraine and you are mincing about dreaming of tattoos. Grow up.”

Rylan Clark hit right back at a troll on Twitter

No nonsense Rylan was not having any of it with the Supermarket Sweep host instantly hitting straight back at the troll.

He replied: “U got any idea what I’ve done for the cause? No, because I don’t feel the need to plaster it all over social media so thanks and take care, have a great eve.”

Rylan’s many supportive fans quickly came to his defence and insisted that he shouldn’t rise to the troll’s bitter tweet.

An empathetic fan wrote: “Don’t rise to it hun, I’m sure he is doing all he can for Ukraine too!!!”

Another tweeted: “He’s got 2 followers sweetie, I wouldn’t worry!

“It’s gone up to 3. Don’t feed the trolls. And get a bloody big tattoo Rylan.”

It comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its 20th day, with Putin officially announcing the campaign on February 24.

After splitting from husband Dan Neal in 2021, Rylan opened up last month about how he struggled with his mental health and took four months off work.

Speaking about his difficult time on his podcast Ry-union, he said: “I’ve never in my life thought that I would go through a crisis like that.

“But I did, ultimately, and it literally hit me round the face like a baseball bat because I always thought I was too strong for it.

“Like, I’m never going to let anything like that happen to me, but then it does and it’s really, really hard to deal with.”
