Hollyoaks spoilers tease bus crash tragedy, McQueen heartbreak and gym injury horror

Hollyoaks favourite John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) gets a major wake up call next week as his battle with alcoholism continues.

Whilst teaching a class, John Paul trips and falls and Charlie Dean (CharlieBehan) catches the whole thing on camera.

Later, he finds Charlie and Mason Chen-Williams (Frank Kauer) laughing at the video and takes drastic action.

As the camping trip approaches, Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace) has some bad news for Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) as she takes away her role of chaperone and gives it to Olivia Bradshaw (Emily Burnett).

It’s the day of the camping trip and Mason bonds with classmate Freya.

Meanwhile, John Paul finds a vodka bottle in his puffer jacket. As he tries to keep it concealed, he remains visibly on edge, but will he be tempted to take a sip?

As they set off, John Paul is assigned the role of designated driver, but it’s not long before the kids grow rowdier and they get lost.

Tragedy strikes as John Paul’s eyes start to close and he loses control of the vehicle.

As he gains consciousness, John Paul’s faced by the repercussions of what he’s done whilst Olivia takes charge and rounds up the kids from the van.

Panic strikes as Mason realises Freya is still in the van and stuck under all the luggage.

When paramedics arrive, Olivia is nowhere to be found. As John Paul searches for her, he makes an unsettling discovery.

Mercedes McQueen makes a heartbreaking decision for Bobby’s welfare

As everyone rushes to the hospital, John Paul comes face-to-face with Freya’s mum and Nate’s ex- partner, Lexi (Natalie Anderson), but she’s not the only one he has to answer to as Olivia’s partner Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) wants answers too.

Will John Paul come clean about what he’s done?

Over at the McQueens, Bobby Costello (Jakob Chialton) starts to question his mum Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) after finding a specialised school leaflet.

After some harsh words, things get heated and Bobby is knocked unconscious.

When Bobby later overhears Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) saying Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) has voiced her worries about his behaviour, he leaps into action.

As he sets a dangerous trap, Mercedes is almost hurt in the process and Bobby is forced to reveal his intentions.

Another visit from Mike, the social worker, gets too overwhelming for Mercedes and she turns to old habits and purchases drugs.

Later, the ulterior motives of Aunt Wendy are revealed.

As Mercedes breaks down in front of Sally, she makes a heartbreaking decision for Bobby’s welfare.

Meanwhile, Sam Chen-Williams (Matthew McGivern) launches a charity bootcamp and a missing stopper on some weights leaves newcomer Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) injured.

The policeman tries to make things right following Zoe’s injury and visits her with a bouquet of flowers.

Later, looking for an explanation, Sam checks his video footage and finds young Bobby meddling with the equipment, but could he have really done something so sinister?

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
