Real Housewives star Dawn Ward ‘drunkenly shouted racist abuse at Jewish brothers’

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward has been accused of shouting racist abuse at two Jewish brothers, and “slapping” one of them “across the face”.

The 48-year-old appeared at Inner London Crown Court sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice on Tuesday (March 15), accused of a “drunken rant” which allegedly saw her hurl racist abuse at Jake and Sam Jacobs at London’s Euston Station.

Dawn, who is married to former Premier League footballer Ashley Ward, is accused of yelling: “You Jewish c***. Why are you people always complaining? You fat p***k.”

She was also allegedly found with cocaine stowed in a cigarette packet.

Ward has denied racially aggravated intentional harassment and possession of cocaine at her hearing.

The court was informed that she had been “drinking heavily” in October 29, 2019, ahead of the alleged incident, in which Ward was said to have overheard the brothers wondering why the trains were delayed.

She allegedly approached them, asking: “Why do you lot always complain?”

The prosecution Gregory Wedge told the court: “At the time you might think why, but she was we now know was referring to their Jewish faith.

“They pretty much ignored it, but the altercation became violent, she became violent and called Jake a fat c*** and a Jewish p***k or words to that effect.

“During this argument or heated conversation, she slaps Jake Jacobs across the face.

“Both of them were upset by this incident and called the police and they subsequently arrested Mrs Ward.”

However, Ward claimed the conversation was “friendly”, and said she only gave Jacobs a “playful tap on the face”.

She also denied using “racially aggravated words”.

Property developer Jake Jacobs told the court that he could “smell alcohol” on Dawn, and added: “I didn’t know why I was being approached like that, out of the blue, in quite an aggressive sort of way.

She recently quit Real Housewives of Cheshire

“She didn’t want to go away; she was attached to staying near us.

“She was being quite scary and abusive, I just felt I had a long day at work.

“I had been started on for absolutely no reason, it made me feel really upset.”

He added that it was only “later down the line” that he realised Ward’s “you lot” comment was aimed at his religion.

Mr Jacobs said the alleged “slap” came “out of nowhere” after he asked what his religion had to do with the conversation, adding: “For a long time, it made me really sad, because what my parents and grandparents have gone through it’s brought it all back

“I couldn’t believe in this current climate; I was naïve to think it doesn’t happen.

“But when it happens to you it really affected me for a long period of time.

“I was confused about this, there was nothing at all it was completely unprovoked, there was nothing said, we just wanted to go home.”

The trial continues.
