Danny Dyer red-faced as he's caught stealing £109 worth of petrol in awkward blunder

EastEnders star Danny Dyer revealed the details after he accidentally stole more than £100 worth of petrol.

Danny, 44, was left red-faced after what he thought was a “scam letter” came through his front door.

The former Mick Carter actor became furious upon reading the letter which accused him of filling his car up £109 worth of petrol and driving off without paying for it.

Convinced it was a “scam” the actor called his fraud company and followed up by checking in with his local petrol station where “the scene of the crime” happened.

The actor shared the details of the hilarious incident on the latest episode of his podcast with daughter Dani – Sorted With The Dyers.

Danny explained that the previous week, he had filled up his car full of petrol worth £109.

When he entered the shop to pay for the petrol, he recalled getting distracted while deciding what to have for lunch.

After striking up a conversation with the cashier, he forgot to mention that he had filled his car up with petrol as he paid for his other lunch items.

Danny said he left the petrol station “with his tail between his legs” after he realised his mistake.

He hilariously said: “I did drive off without paying £109 to fill up my car,”

“I felt just a little bit embarrassed.

“I paid for it and cleared it all up. It’s all paid for now. But I walked out of that f**king petrol garage with my tail between my legs while clutching that fraud letter.

“I don’t think I’ll be going back there anytime soon.”

Danny, who has played the character of Mick Carter in EastEnders for nearly a decade, will leave the soap later this year, the BBC has confirmed.

He first stepped onto Albert Square in 2013 and moved into The Queen Vic becoming the pub’s landlord.

A spokesperson for the soap said: “Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year.

“Danny has made Mick Carter an iconic character, which we shall always be grateful for, however we won’t be saying goodbye just yet as there’s still quite some time – and plenty of explosive drama for Mick – to come before he departs Walford.”
