Viewers can expect heart-wrenching scenes in Emmerdale next week as things take a turn for the worse for many characters.
Emmerdale spoilers can reveal that Marlon Dingle’s life will go from good to bad relatively quickly as he suffers a stroke after his proposal to Rhona Goskirk.
Trying to make sense of the situation, Rhona is left wondering how the shocking condition will affect the rest of their lives together.
Elsewhere, Jai Sharma is desperate to get things back on track with his partner Laurel Thomas but is devastated when she tells him where to go.
Also, Meena Jutla’s court case is still underway but Liam Cavanagh is left disheartened when Manpreet Sharma refuses to testify, but will she change her mind?
Marlon collapses
Rhona and Marlon begin to put their plans of marriage into motion and propose at the same time in a moment of pure joy.
Excited by what’s to come, Marlon dashes off to find the ring he left back at Smithy but as the pub chef searches for the engagement ring, his vision becomes impaired.
Falling to the ground and Marlon quickly realises he’s suffering from a stroke.
Frightened and clearly disorientated, Marlon tries to cling onto his consciousness as he scrambles to remember the F.A.S.T.* acronym.
Seeing that Marlon has been missing for a while, daughter April rushes home to see where he is and whether her dad is ok.
With his consciousness rapidly fading, Marlon barely recognises a distraught April rushing to help him as she quickly calls for an ambulance.
Later on, while in the hospital, Rhona is clearly shaken and emotional as she prepares Marlon for surgery.
Internally, Marlon would love for Rhona to stay with him but due to his inability to speak, Rhona bolts from the hospital room in order to disguise her breakdown.
As time passes, Rhona anxiously waits for Marlon to come round and wonders how his stroke will affect the rest of their lives.
Shock split
Following the news of Marlon, Jai’s is eager to support Laurel in whatever he can.
Trying his best to get back into her good books, Jai is left to babysit the children, but he soon realises how he desperately misses life with his family.
Elsewhere, Laurel is left feeling guilty as she lies to Arthur regarding the reason for her break-up in order to preserve his perception of Jai.
Though things are rocky, Jai still believes there’s hope for him and Laurel.

But Laurel still isn’t budging and becomes frustrated that Jai thinks he can repair their relationship.
Shocked that Laurel is still upset with him, Jai is left devastated by the depth of Laurel’s pain and is further gutted when she shoos him off the property.
Laurel’s frustrations continue to grow when young Arthur, who is completely unaware of the real reason for her break-up with Jai, ends up accusing her of sleeping with someone else but Jai soon sets him straight.
But with things not going the way Jai planned, will his relationship with Laurel ever be restored to its former glory?
Meena’s fate sealed

Twisted nurse Meena has not yet been bought to justice but Manpreet’s fatal decision could possibly change everything.
Due to her nervousness and previous panic attack, Manpreet tells Liam she will not be testifying in court against her sister Meena.
But the atmosphere quickly turns sour as Liam worries he’ll never get justice for his late daughter Leanna.
Will Manpreet change her mind or will she fold under pressure?
