The Chase’s Mark Labbett has said that he is “gutted” about missing out on the US version of the popular game show.
Mark is an original chaser on the UK’s programme, having been with the ITV show for 13 years since its initial launch in 2009.
The Chase USA recently announced that the much anticipated second season will be going ahead, but The Beast took the opportunity to confirm that he will not be rejoining the show.
He wrote: “Gutted to not be invited back but really excited at the new lineup. I’m expecting Brandon and Victoria to wow America,” and signed off with a smiley face.
Although disappointed that he wasn’t asked to headline another season, Labbett seemed in good spirits as he sportingly wished his co-stars well.
Fans were equally as shocked to hear that he hadn’t been asked to return and shared their thoughts.

One wrote: “I don’t know why they wouldn’t want you back. It’s always a nice surprise when you’re announced as the chaser.”
Another said: “”You’re a great quizzer and you have a dynamite personality. I heard the UK version of Mastermind is looking for a host!”
One fan added that Mark was the only chaser that could “really trash talk,” while others stated that they “weren’t sure if they’d continue watching” the show without him because they “want him back”.

Other kind well wishers asked Mark to “give their regards to his fellow chasers in the UK” because they’re “loved on our side of the Atlantic”.
The Chase fans were recently confused at the UK show after their favourite chaser was “hustled” by a contestant.
Mark went up against a contestant who viewers thought had swindled his way into getting a higher offer from The Beast after his cash builder round.

Simon only managed to bag £1000 which left him with a low offer of £100, or a high offer of £20,000.
He went for the 20k after Bradley told him that £1000 was “no reflection of his abilities” and passed with flying colours.
Viewers took to Twitter to speculate over his intentions and wondered whether he had deliberately played a terrible first round in an attempt to “hustle” a higher offer.
