Piers Morgan pays touching tribute to Stephen Hawking as he celebrates St Patrick's Day

Piers Morgan has shared a heartfelt throwback with scientist Stephen Hawking in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.

In commemoration of the event, he posted a short clip on Instagram in which the journalist stood next to Stephen Hawking in a blue suit, clutching a pint of Guinness.

On his right, Stephen Hawking was in front of a chalkboard and wore a grey suit.

Hawking can be heard saying “Cheers, Piers,” as the journalist stood beside him, raised his glass and said cheers in return.

Morgan wrote: “Happy St Patrick’s Day! Throwback to the time I celebrated it with the late, great Professor Stephen Hawking, who loved a pint of the black stuff as much as he loved unravelling the mystery of black holes,” and signed off with an Irish flag emoji.

One fan commented that it was the “most awkward thing they had ever watched” while another was shocked at how many “celebrity friends” he has met.

Piers Morgan has recently shifted his focus to The Sun, who he now writes a regular column for.

He has commented on Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson and Kanye West’s ongoing feud that “made him puke”.

Rapper Kanye West was previously married to reality television star Kim Kardashian and has been engaged in an ongoing online war with his ex-wife and her new boyfriend.

Fans called the interaction “awkward”

He noted that while the conflict in Ukraine is raging on, the celebrity stories are abundant and updates on the continuing disagreement are frequent.

He wrote: “Nothing quite prepared me for the staggeringly selfish, inappropriate, insensitive and unctuous conduct of Kim Kardashian and the stupendously ghastly men in her life, Kanye West and Pete Davidson.”

“Not a day goes by without some new ‘breaking news development’ in their toxic, ugly feud, which in their pampered tunnel vision eyes is the only war any of us should really care about,” he quipped.

Piers went on to call their feud “cretinous, spoiled brat nonsense,” branded Pete’s dating history an “exhaustive back catalogue” and mentioned his ex-girlfriends Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor.

The journalist also said that hearing about the argument between the three celebrities sent a “surging sense of rage building inside him”.
