The mother of rapper Young Thug’s child has reportedly been shot and killed at the age of 31.
LaKevia Jackson was allegedly killed outside a bowling alley in Atlanta after a fight.
Police were called to Metro Fun Center on Thursday evening (March 17) after reports that a woman had been shot.
Her mother told a local reporter that she was at the bowling alley to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
She then alleged that the suspected shooter had waited in the car park for LaKevia to leave for 20 minutes.
CBS46 reporter Tori Copper wrote on Twitter: “I just spoke to LaKevia Jackson’s mom. She says LaKevia went to her best friend’s birthday at the bowling alley.
“A fight over the bowling ball happened, then the suspect waited 20 mins in the parking lot for LaKevia before he shot her while she was leaving. “
Sherina Jackson also told the outlet: “I didn’t know that was going to be the last time I talked to my baby. I could hear her over the phone crying and screaming then her best friend said she’s not breathing! I lost my baby all over a bowling ball.”
LaKevia and Young Thug share 14-year-old son Kyvion together. The rapper has five other children.
Tori added that Kyvion had been informed of his mother’s death and was struggling with the news.
She posted: “Lakevia’s mother just told me that rapper Young Thug is the father of her 14-year-old grandson, Kyvion Jackson.
“They met before he was famous while they were both living in the same apt. complex. His grandson, ‘isn’t doing well’.”
Atlanta Police have launched a homicide investigation into the brutal killing and have issued a statement on the case.
Homicide Commander Lt. Ralph Woolfolk said: “This is truly an atrocity. A young lady has lost her life over a bowling ball. We talk about conflict resolution time and time again and this is an escalated dispute, so we will work this case through the night and we will find the person responsible.”
WhileAtlanta Police Department have not released any official information about the suspect it is believed that eyewitness statements from the scene coupled with ballistic and surveillance evidence have them close to making an arrest.
