Kanye West pulled from Grammy's performance after 'concerning online behaviour'

Kanye West has been barred from performing at the Grammys on April 3, his representative has confirmed.

On Friday evening a representative for Kanye West claimed that he had received a phone call informing him that Kanye had been “unfortunately removed” from the lineup of performers.

US publication Variety reports that he was removed following his “concerning online behaviour”.

Although Kanye was not previously listed as a performer, it was speculated that he had been planned as a surprise.

A representative for West told the publication that the news of the star being pulled from the performance was “confirmed”, though they provided no further insight.

An additional report from the Blast claims sources say Kanye’s team was “not surprised” by the decision.

Kanye has been nominated for four awards this year including Album of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song.

Despite his rant last year against the awards show, Kanye managed to dominate multiple categories following the release of his album Donda.

Some fans were shocked at Kanye’s nominations, considering in 2020 after successfully taking home another Grammy he placed his award in the toilet bowl and filmed what appeared to be urine being sprayed over the gong.

At the time he posted the clip alongside the caption: “Trust me, I won’t stop.”

However, Kanye has remained a highly celebrated artist and could take home another award, or four, this year too.

He will not be taking the stage to perform any of his hit tracks though.

The first round of Grammy performers were announced on Tuesday morning including BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Brandi Carlille and Brothers Osborne.

The show will be taking place from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Trevor Noah.

Kanye West is up for multiple categories, but the competition is tough, particularly for Album of the Year, with Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, H.E.R, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga and John Bastiste all landing a place in the nomination.
